Do I Have to Let Savannah Police Search My Phone

Question: Do I have to let the police search my phone?

Answer:  You don’t have to let the police search your phone. And, actually, if your phone is protected by a password like a 4-digit number if it’s an iPhone, for example, you don’t have to give them that, even if the court orders you to open your phone. That is completely protected. That is an issue we have all the time in today’s society, but you do not have to, and I would never advise opening your phone for the police.
